How to redeem a Roblox Gift Card

On a computer, redeeming a gift card on Roblox works like this.

1. Find your PIN. It is in the confirmation email you received after buying your Roblox Gift Card. Keep the email open, you will need the code in a moment.

2. Open the Roblox redemption page. Go to roblox.com and open the redeem page for gift cards.

3. Sign in to the right account. Credit is added to whichever account is signed in, so check the username before you continue. This is the step that most often goes wrong in households with more than one player.

4. Enter the PIN. Type or paste the code exactly as it appears in the email.

5. Confirm and check your balance. After confirming, the amount should appear as Roblox Credit on the account.
That credit stays on the account until it is spent, so there is no need to use it all in one go.

Redeeming a gift card does not happen inside the Roblox app itself. On a phone or tablet you use the browser instead, and the steps are the same as on desktop.

Open your browser, go to the Roblox redemption page, sign in to the account the credit should go to, and enter the PIN. Once you confirm, the credit is on the account and you can switch back to the app to spend it.

One tip that saves a lot of frustration on a small screen: copy the code straight from the email and paste it in, rather than typing it over. Gift card PINs are long, and a single wrong character is the most common reason a code appears to fail.

If your code will not go through, one of these is usually the reason.

The code has already been redeemed. Check whether someone else in the household has used it, and look at the account balance to see if the credit is already there.

There is a typing error. Copy and paste the PIN from your email instead of typing it, and watch for confusion between similar looking characters.

You are signed in to the wrong account. Check the username at the top of the page, sign out, and sign back in with the account that should receive the credit.

The card is for another region. A card bought in one currency will not always redeem on an account set to another. Check which region the card was issued for.

If none of these apply, Roblox support can look up the code for you. Keep your purchase confirmation to hand, as you will usually be asked for it. One last thing: ignore any site offering free Robux or unused gift card codes. These are scams without exception, and entering your account details on them puts your account at risk.

A gift card does not add Robux to your account directly. It adds Roblox Credit, which you then exchange for Robux whenever you like. How many Robux you end up with depends on the value of your card and on the rate Roblox applies at that moment, so it is worth checking the current amounts on Roblox before you exchange. Players with a Roblox Premium membership receive a better rate on the same purchase.

Robux is not the only option. Credit can also go towards a Premium membership itself, or towards purchases inside individual games.
